A Few Firsts

Last Thursday marked my 25th week of pregnancy. Everyone told me that the second trimester would drag on. But it really hasn't. I'm three weeks from my third trimester already. While I cannot wait to meet our baby... its also kind of sad because that means the first year of her life is going to fly by just as fast!

This week held a couple firsts. Friday evening I had my first Braxton Hicks contraction. I also had a cramp in my leg that night... which both things can be a result of not having enough water. I thought I had been drinking plenty that evening, but you never know. Just to be safe... I'm going to keep pushing the water, especially in the evening. But... the BG contraction was definitely cool. Yes... I realize that I will not be using the word cool to describe contractions for long... but it was a tiny, tiny, tiny little taste of what's to come.

The second, first was we actually saw the baby moving for the first time. I'm sure I could have seen the movements before, but I never really laid down to watch while I was feeling movements. So I laid on the bed, and almost immediately, I saw my a bump in my belly shift. Woah!!! It was so cool. Nathan was in the shower, so as soon as he got out... I called him in to watch. Sure enough... we both saw the movements. It was beautiful.

Then... last night I fell asleep before Nathan. While I was asleep he had his hand on my tummy and could feel the baby moving. It was a very special bonding moment for Nathan. It was a moment just between baby and daddy while mommy was off in dream land. It touched my heart.

The physical therapy really seems to be helping. I have not had a bad night since last Monday. And I think I may start doing some aqua therapy... which I would LOVE! I feel like my belly has grown 3 lbs in the last two days. The thought of being in water... with the pressure off my pelvis just sounds wonderful. Hopefully that will work out.

I guess that's all that's new for now. I hope you each have a wonderful week!
