Grilled cheese

Even though my midwife appointments last a whole five minutes... I really enjoy them. I count down from one to the next. I guess I just enjoy the reassurance that everything looks good. And hearing that baby's heart beat never gets old. I found out yesterday that my appointment for next Monday had to be rescheduled... luckily it was rescheduled for today. Yay! I'm not sure whether or not Nathan will be able to make this one (he has made every other appointment... one plus of his job.) But... as always... I can't wait.

Baby has been moving like crazy these days, and they are becoming much stronger. I can often feel the movements from the outside of my belly, but Nathan has yet to catch one of these. I imagine it'll be any day now. And the baby is moving a lot more during the day and when I'm moving around, not just when I am sitting down or resting. I have still not had any significant cravings. In my first trimester I craved protein, either meat or eggs. But I have found myself eating the same thing over and over throughout the week... Grilled cheese or I'll snack on cheese and turkey pepperoni. I had been using American cheese, but I decided to choose a variety to keep hand that was lower in sodium and higher in protein than American. And this week... I discovered how delicious the turkey pepperoni is on a grilled cheese. Oh and the only bread we eat now is Arnolds Sandwich Thins. They are 100% whole wheat. 100 calories, 1 g fat, 5 g dietary fiber, 5 g protein, and no high fructose corn syrup. Nathan and I absolutely refuse to buy a lot of things containing HFCS, but especially bread! So I think these sandwich thins have helped keep the carb count low while offering the nutrition of whole wheat. And I have found myself choosing much blander foods. I don't know why... its just what I end up wanting. We'll see what my weight gain has been since my last appointment, three weeks ago.

And Nathan had Sunday and Monday off this week. So we made a little run down to Grand Blanc for Panera and a movie. Panera is a rare treat these days... and it was just nice to do something special on Nathan's day off. Sometimes... the only way for him to be off is to leave town. So we did and had a great time.

I'll add another brief post this afternoon with the results of today's appointment.
